Can
you imagine being a child and not having a book to read? I can't.
Every child needs a book. A book can help a child
laugh, hope, dream, explore ideas, and visit new places. Books bring joy.
There are approximately 1, 789, 461,
717 children (ages 0-14) in the world. That is about 27.4% of the world's population.* How many of these children
have never had a book?
One Book One Child's mission is to give a book to every child that has none.
One Book One Child is different from other book collecting organizations, because our mission reaches
out to children that have no access to libraries or funds for school. Many of these children are in countries
very far from where I live. I hope you'll consider giving a book to a child in need.
